Music Production and Education
Born and raised in Lima, capital city of Perú, an ever-growing South American country, whose people are known around the world for our creative, likeable, and hardworking nature.
My background and experience are not only in Audio Engineering and Music Production, but also in higher education, having worked and led teams managing diverse responsibilities. As well as having been passing on my technical expertise and knowledge to younger generations for the last ten years.
Member of the Advisory Committee of the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences´ (UPC) School of Music Program since 2011. Full-time faculty between 2013 and 2018: in charge of the Program´s design of standards for equipment and technological labs (recording studios, instrument studios, keyboard and computer labs), in charge of the technology and production line of courses, in charge of the Program´s Assessment of Outcomes. Designer of the Recording Techniques for Session Musicians course for the Performance major.
Part-time faculty at the UPC School of Music since 2010 in the Electric Bass, Contemporary Music Ensemble I (Rock), Recording Techniques for Session Musicians, Digital Music Production, Audio Technology and Musical Project I and II courses in the three program´s majors.
Participant in the Audio Engineering Workstudy Program of The Banff Center (Alberta, Canada) in 2009, as Assistant Audio Engineer and later as Associate Audio Engineer, attending talks and conducting recording sessions with Joe Ferla, Steve Albini, Mark Wilsher, Husky Höskulds, Judith Sherman, Steve Bellamy, Theresa Leonard, Orest Shusko, among others. In addition, self-taught studies of technology and use and management of recording software and hardware, and private studies of musical sciences with Maestro Jorge Madueño Romero.
Working as educator and Music Producer with experience in rock, jazz, classical music and other acoustic genres. Also worked as a composer of music for theater and television, performer (bass, guitar, winds, sequences), arranger, recording engineer, mixing and mastering, live sound and musical director, since the year 2000. Most projects I have worked on have been released internationally, including two albums for The Banff Center.
This experience gives me a wide range of technical and interpersonal skills. I consider myself as someone technically savvy, that pays attention to detail, who can fit and work in many different types of situations, in order to reach a given objective. I also think my creativity, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn can make me an asset for any projects I may embark on.
