I am a professor of Earth sciences, with more than 40 years as a researcher and a teacher. I am retired now and staying in the United States. The United States Immigration Centre has issued me a green card (EB1 Visa), in recognition of my academic accomplishments and I have now moved to Cleveland, Ohio. I hold a PhD in Geological sciences from the University of South Carolina, USA. In addition to my degree in earth science, I also hold a diploma degree in journalism. As a teacher, I have trained hundreds of undergraduate and graduate students. I have published over 90 research papers and published popular articles. A popular book co-authored by me on earthquakes in India (The Rumbling Earth) is now in press (Penguin books). I have written several popular articles in the English language and several of them are published in the leading daily newspaper in India- the Hindustan times. I work for a language and subject editing company (Edit Springs) that edits content and language for those who need help with content improvement. I have served as Associate Editor (Earth Science) for the leading science journal of India, Current Science. I have serves as a reviewer for numerous scientific journals specializing in Earth Sciences.
