I will carefully read and correct for common mistakes such as subject and verb agreement, verb and noun tenses, omitted words (including hyphenation, quotations, apostrophes, parentheses), capital letters and numbers, Italics, underlining, and bolding, grammar and spelling. I use Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and PDF methods of proofreading.

Previously, I wrote, edited, proofread, and published a kitting blog. For the blog, I designed and published knitting patterns and “how to” blog posts.

I was a math and science teacher for over ten years. While teaching, I gained years of experience proofreading while writing curriculum and grading student work and proficiently communicating with education professionals, parents, students, and the community. While teaching, my time management skills were fine tuned.

I worked over ten years in geographic information systems (GIS) for city, county, state, and federal governments. I wrote technical documents and procedures, built and maintained websites, created the website’s content and technical documents, worked with geographic information systems creating interactive maps, and created and maintained large sets of data and spreadsheets.

My earlier work experiences gave me years of customer service experience and the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time. I gained valuable organization skills. Computer and office software skills were a necessity in all my earlier work experiences.
