Hi,

I am Kevin and I live for the web. Most of my time is spent writing software for web systems like on-line stores or custom specialized blog applications. Aside from that I enjoy the written word and to follow that up I do some writing to quench the urge. That being said I love the automobile with a passion and that’s where my hobbies rest.

In detail here is what I do:

Back end development ( Ruby, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL)

Front end development ( HTML, CSS ). Can include a bit of Twitter Bootstrap or Zurb Foundation if need be. Though I prefer writing my own front end assets because they seem to have a better ‘feel’.

Developer Operations. I come all round in this one as I can host, manage domains, secure serves with ssl’s, set-up monitoring and throw in some Google analytics for detailed traffic reports. I use Nginx as my web-server and will admit to not exploring other options as it has been that good. I will in future if a client needs something like Apache hosting or I might just out of curiosity.

I have a strict code of releasing optimized projects as I subject myself through thorough audits before releasing applications. I use Test Driven Development method where I form test-scenarios and write modules till they are functional.

Some times a mobile form of my application my be needed. Instead of writing complete native mobile applications I will form a progressive web application for your project which is virtually indistinguishable from it native competitor. I am as exited about the possibility of this as the next person is; slightly more for my case because I will get paid for it :) .

I splash some JavaScript on my front ends but only sparingly so for speed, ease from complexity and because rails does most of the actions operations by JavaScript.
