I have worked within the customer service industry for 25 years. I am old school trained whereby the phrase "the customer matters" isn't a cliche. My forte is complaints handling. I have worked for two large energy suppliers here in the UK and very frequently dealt with director and ombudsman level complaints. For the last 6 years of my career I have worked remotely. I feel working remotely provides me with a good work / life balance and also enhances my focus while I am working. I feel distractions that are often present when working in an office are eradicated and I am far more productive. I am able to converse with people from all walks of life and actually enjoy providing a service. Ensuring that the issue they felt the need to contact the company about is resolved and the customer is satisfied.
