Qualifications & Experiences  Proficient in Video and audio editing software: In my years of working as a videographer with a background in photography, I have had to learn and adapt to work with various audio and video processing software. I.e. Adobe Premiere Pro, CC, Motion, Adobe Audition, FinalCut Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Indesign. Ensure I am up to date in regards to new software updates and constantly learning and improving.  Camera Operations: Framing of shots as per the director’s request, camera movements (pan, tilt, dolly in/out, dutch angle). My background in photography has been key to ensure I capture images that are not only clear, but have a purpose in ensuring the overall vision of the director or producer is met. Experience in working with various DSLR and ENG camera. My quick adaptability and and ability to learn fast has ensured I provide constant quality of output regardless of type of gear/camera. Cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining gear is a basic requirement for me since clean equipment, translates to the quality of your production. E.g recording with a smudged up lens will not give a clear and clean picture. Shooting with editing in mind. For instance in feature stories or documentaries, I know it my duty to give the editor and director enough Cut aways, cover shots, action shots and various creative shots, all to ensure the production is visually pleasing and of high quality.  Sound Monitoring and recording: Many of my tasks as a videographer has sharpened my skills in proper audio management. In various scenarios, i.e outdoor or indoors, the kind of microphone I choose to employ will be vital to ensure I get good and crystal clear sound. This can be done by adjusting gain levels on the receivers or Sound mixer, in the instance of Live show recordings. In addition to rigging sound in a multi camera, set up and balancing audio from different channels to a constant levels, I have worked in mixing sound in live shows.  Video directing and production: I have been involved in production of documentaries and feature stories. Not only in shooting but in editing as well in order to ensure the objective of the production is met with no compromise on quality. I have had extensive experience in live TV show video mixing and directing. Having mainly put to use a six-channel Video mixer that consists of three cameras, Two Zoom computers and VTR.  Set /On location Preparation: From set up proper lighting, performing sound checks before recording to cleaning and sanitizing sets before and after a recording; especially with COVID.  Pre-Production: Proper planning is key to ensure that a production meet it’s various targets effectively and with NO compromise on quality. As a camera person it is my duty to ensure I fully understand what the vision or goal of the producer/director is and give relevant feedback as to how I will help achieve this. At pre-production, as a camera person, I get to mentally visualize what equipment and set ideas that maybe ideal for that specific production. E.g If I am shooting an interview, knowing specific details such as nature of venue (indoors or outdoors) I will get to plan what gear to use;such as nature of microphones, lights, number of cameras to use etc.  Creative and out of the box thinker with a keen eye for detail.  Accredited journalist by the Media Council of Kenya.
