Top 6 places you must visit in Singapore We can’t deny that Singapore is one of the countries that travellers want to visit. Aside from the fact that we don’t need to apply for Visa to get there the country is just so beautiful not to include in our bucket list. If I talk about Singapore, the first thing that comes to other people’s mind is “EXPENSIVE”. Yeah, I can say it is but I say it is definitely worth the price. From the very moment you land to their stunning airport, there’s only one thing left to say: “WOW” Everything is just so beautiful, from the people, environment, food, the weather and the architecture; the place is beyond beautiful really. Last year, I went to Singapore. It was September and the weather is not very hot nor rainy. It was sunny but cold air is blowing so sweating didn’t really happen. If excitement could cause sweating then I would have to change my clothes every hour. After uploading my photos in Singapore on my Facebook, a lot of people from my town have been very curious and asked me so many things about the trip. Well, it’s all thanks to my awesome and talented cousin who took all the amazing photos during the whole trip. Some messaged me and asked for tips of where they should go for their trip in Singapore. I only stayed in Singapore for 3 days for my birthday vacation so I really wasn’t able to visit a lot of places. Trust me, 3 days was very short and you’d need a week to explore all the beautiful places in Singapore however, I have listed these 6 places you must NOT miss in Singapore. I say, YOU DIDN’T VISIT SINGAPORE IF YOU DIDN’T GO TO THESE PLACES. All in caps because I want to highlight that. I have also included some suggestions of what you should wear. I know, you are welcome. 1. Sentossa From Vivo city you will need to short train ride to get to sentossa. During the short trip, you will be able to see the beautiful and busy Singapore. Sentosa is where USS is located so before you enter USS make sure to visit the other two stops of the train. There are so many activities that you can enjoy in Sentossa and if you want to enjoy them visit Klook and see for yourself. 2. Universal Studios Singapore I believe this is the only Universal Studios that is not very hard to visit since other US is located in the countries that require a visa. Oh, don’t mention it! I know how hard it is for us Filipinos to complete our travel bucket list because of the visa requirements. This is the only US that don’t require visa so let’s goooo! The ticket costs ranges from 2,700 to 3,200 pesos. It depends on the season, but please don’t go there during weekends, you’ll definitely waste your time to line and waiting for your turn for the rides. Best check on Klook for better prices, they give really good deals and very convenient when purchasing tickets. Here’s a sample of how my Universal Studios E-ticket look like. They have this $5 Meal and $5 retail discount. I think it’s worth the price. A meal costs $15 dollars and drinks are around $10 dollars too. The food inside USS is really pricey so make sure to grab something heavy before you start your adventure. Tip! Buy one bottled water inside and use it for the rest of the day, they have drinking fountain everywhere so you can just refill it than spend $10 for bottled water. USS is not only for kids, they are for everyone. Even the adults can appreciate and enjoy the theme park! There are shows, rides and presentations everyone can enjoy. Tip! Don’t forget to take a photo with the Universal Studio’s Globe, it can be tricky sometimes to have a photo with it with no photo bombers or crowded background but trust me, you’d be able to take one with the perfect timing and angling. For your OOTD, I advice to wear something that’s really comfortable since you’d be really walking around the whole day. I wore a jumper & my fave pair of skechers. 3. Merlion Park Yup. The very famous Merlion Park, a photo with it says it all. “I am in Singapore”. Where else? A mermaid lion can’t be found in any other countries than Singapore. The park is really crowded, a lot of people again can destroy your photoshoot, but again with the perfect timing and angling you’d be able to capture priceless pictures. In the Merlion Park, is where you can see the beautiful view of the famous Marina Bay Sands. Make sure to take countless pictures in the park and you’ll regret. Yeah, that’s a threat! LOL For this tip, the best OOTD would be a colourful dress that would contrast the colors of the beautiful view. That day, I wore a long old rose colored dress that complemented the sunny weather, my comfy flat sandals & a pair of sunnies to protect my eyes from the sun rays and of course for photoshoot purposes. 4. Marina Bay Sands From the Merlion Park just across is the Marina Bay Sands. From the Park to Marina Bay Sands would be a really long walk but it’s really worth every step. If you want the best view of MBS then like I said, make sure to take photos from the Merlion Park. See my photos below for ideas. 5. Gardens By The Bay Just minutes walk from Marina Bay Sands is the beautiful Gardens by the Bay, this is one of the VERY VERY must-places you should visit. Expensive? No worries, you can enjoy it for free. If you want to enjoy them very up-close that’s the time you’ll pay. However, we had to stay outside because we ran out of time. But it wasn’t very bad at all! 6. China Town I am not sure if this should be the first or last in your list but in mine this is the last. In the country full of expensive food and stuff, this is where you’ll find goods that are half price. It’s really cheap and food is delicious. And when I say food, I am talking about the Chinatown food streets. This is where you can find one of the top hawkers in Singapore. This is the place where I bought my pasalubongs and souvenirs. The souvenir shirts prices $10 for 3 and chocolates $10 for 3 boxes of chocolates. I know, it’s really cheap. I bought a lot with my $150, a lot that I had to buy a bag and additional luggage. Tip! Try to negotiate for lower price OOTD There are so many places you could visit in Singapore. The city is very really tourist friendly, it’s like where the east meets the west. Many different nationalities, Indian, Chinese, Malaysians, Thai, and there are even a lot of Pinoys working there. One thing I noticed the moment I landed in Singapore is that most of their staff and workers are old. Grandmother and Grandfather old-like that’s why even in the bathroom, I feel a bit awkward and guilty for putting on make-up while they are cleaning. I don’t know, but I just feel uncomfy and my heart melts every time I see them. I am quite impressed actually that even they are old they still work for living however a part of me is really sad. I kind of feel sorry for them they had to work, clean toilets, and other jobs. Singaporeans are really amazing and warm hearted. They always smile and they are so approachable. Trust me; I wouldn’t really mind getting lost in Singapore. They are very disciplined, and it’s really safe. I’m gonna share this really amazing scenario that I witnessed in SG airport. So, I was in the information desk waiting for my turn, there’s this girl who was really worried about her phone. She said she lost it and she asked if they could her find her phone. The handsome man in the desk asked her what her phone looked like and asked what the wallpaper was. The girl said it was Samsung phone and the wallpaper is the photo of her baby and indeed magically the handsome guy asked “is this the one?”. The girl’s eyes were wide opened and said it was. The guy gave her the phone and there’s this someone who was standing next to me said: “You are lucky you are in Singapore”. My hair stood in awe, wow! So, basically before the girl noticed that she lost her phone, the person who found it already gave it to the information booth.. Whatever the case is, I am so impressed how they don’t hesitate in reporting the things that they find. I know we would’ve done the same but really they are so honest and kind! I just wish everyone is as honest as the people in Singapore. So, yeah! This is all. Thanks for reading my blog!
