I have a dream, to make a difference. It may sound cliché, but I am deeply impacted by everything that we as humans practice. Be it the causes for our degrading planet and global warming or social inequalities of gender, race and class. It is common civic sense that we know but do not practice. In India I have seen witnessed tremendous social and environment unjust. It is my personal belief that good design thinking and practice can lead to a better lifestyle and provide for harmony within the environment. In the year 2014, I had been a part of a project, far(M)ore, as a Design and Research Associate, prototyping and developing products and methods of farming in the urban slumscape. Far(M)ore aimed at making the city a center of production through urban farming initiatives whilst overcoming lack of greenery in the city. Far(M)ore identified slums within the city are low-rise high-spread settlements with large expanses of roofs. These roofs within settlements are sites where roof farming could take place, above the houses of the inhabitants itself, thus creating a local loop of production and consumption of these farm products.
