KANNAN MUTHUDASAN
I’m Kannan Muthudasan, S/o Chinnaiyan Muthudasan Late,(Former writer in Tamil film/drama industry) I was born on
31st July 1982 in Chennai, Tamilnadu, India, started my career as
a sales executive in a Pvt company in banking sector and quit my
job as branch manager 3 years before having more than 15 years
of experience in sales & marketing industry. I’ve learned very
good experience when I was in the sales job and understand
about the world of people. How to live in and how to overcome
strange situations etc,...
Married a girl called Nancy in 2003, have a wonderful boy kid who
is 12 years old now and he’s studying 7th grade in a matric
school. Unfortunately, we separated three years back. As long as
I worked in my sales profession I felt so unsatisfied with my life
due to I had a dream in my mind so I quit my job. Wants to
achieve something big in the film industry, passionate in
direction.

Lot many people advised me not quit the job where I can focus on
the side by side but I felt that would be little complicated
concentrating in two vertical’s simultaneously however I want to
focus efficiently So I quit my branch manager job and started my
career in film industry. Learning lot many things in the film
industry especially in the field of direction somehow improved
some skills however but this not enough I believe.
Cine field experience :
First job as an assistant director for director G.N.Ajay
for a Tamil feature film.
Second job as an assistant director for Director Rahul
for a short film called “Nallai Allai”.
Then joined as an an associate director for Director
Savan for a Tamil pilot movie called “Kadaisi Thotta” &
“Directorin Diary”.
Previously took 2 short films called “Kaliyuga Thandhai
& Azhukku Sattai, due to some technical drawback I
was not satisfied with the output so I planned to
reschedule the entire both project.
Successfully finished my first short film called “Heaven
3 Days” which is 13 min silent movie, this is an untold
unique story. I’ve got 15 awards and nominations for
my film from film festivals and waiting for some more
results to come.
Successfully finished my ad film which is for digital
media release for a water proofing company
Successfully started a crime thriller bilingual
webseries with 50 lakhs of budget, It’s a 100% unique
screenplay pattern where no one ever tried in the
webseries industry. Preproduction is in process,

Direction is an incredible ART. Live it, Learn it.
Thank you
Yours
What is Direction ??
Direction is in
incredible ART but it
required many other
vertical peoples
supports like
cameraman, music, art
direction, artists etc,..
more than thousand
peoples effort but the
only captain who run
the show is called a
DIRECTOR. Which
means an entire crew
depends on him.
Whether you like it or
not, it has to be the
same way.
So what quality that
basically requires for a
Director, Is he really
required an education
?? of course not but I
would suggest if so will
be an added advantage
if not at least learn the
basic fundamental of all
possible verticals
moreover many people
proved that he doesn't
required it.
A director should
mainly focus on the
screenplay of the script,
as long as the
screenplay becomes
stronger, then no one
can shake your success
of the story. I meant to
say that SCREENPLAY IS
THE BACKBONE OF THE
EACH AND EVERY
STORY. So learn as
much as you can, start
from the set up,
confrontation,
resolution, character
sketch, key incident etc
etc,... but make sure
each and every point
when you write, it
require your full focus
and involvement.
Because your not
going to carry your
career alone, there are
thousands of people
behind you who
waiting for your
success. If you get
succeed they will all
get. If not that's terrible
to say.
Because we can only
see the people who
proven and succeed in
the industry but there
are lakhs and lakhs of
people who
disappeared and lost
their life in this
industry.
Everything is depend
up on the directors
skill, no matter
whether your
professionally educated
or not, whether your
rich or poor, learn in
every possible aspects,
forget who your, what
you learned, try to
learn everyday new
things as much as you
can.
Because as I said earlier
DIRECTION IS AN
INCREDIBLE ART. Live it,
Learn It & Prove it.
Good Luck.
