Kaitlin Parks

I am a recent graduate of The University of Kansas, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a minor in Communications in May 2024. To further strengthen my expertise, I also completed certificates in Sports Media and Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).

Alongside academics, I competed for the University of Kansas Volleyball Team, where I lettered all four years. My time as a student-athlete taught me discipline, resilience, and teamwork while shaping my leadership skills on and off the court. I take pride in contributing to team culture and collaborating toward shared goals, experiences that continue to influence my professional ambitions.

My passion for journalism is rooted in an appreciation for the impact of storytelling. I am committed to creating content that informs, entertains, and inspires audiences. Sports journalism excites me because of its energy and its ability to capture human stories behind every game and performance.

Through my academic work and professional experiences, I have developed specialized skills in sports media. I am proficient in multimedia content creation, including writing, video production, and social media strategy. My background equips me to provide in-depth event coverage, craft athlete profiles, and produce compelling storytelling across digital platforms. I thrive in fast-paced environments where adaptability and creativity are essential.

Looking ahead, I am eager to pursue opportunities in sports journalism, social media, or public relations. My goal is to contribute to the sports media industry by sharing engaging, meaningful stories with a wide audience while highlighting the unique intersections of athletics, media, and leadership.
