Having one's own money on the line is the purest form of teaching, and that's exactly how I learned the skills to be an effective copywriter and content producer. In my past business, I had to generate REAL SALES from the words I chose when crafting sales scripts, email campaigns, social media ads, and web page copy. If my communications weren't on-point, I couldn't pay the bills, and my employees couldn't pay theirs either. 

I owned that business for 10 years and grew it to more than $350k in annual sales and 250 contract clients. Sure, my stellar customer service and high quality of work helped in building that business, but it all hinged on my ability to effectively persuade through carefully crafted words that sold my work without coming across as “sales-ey”.

Beyond my business experience, my formal education background includes journalism, business administration, and marketing. This combination means I possess a unique understanding of how these fields work hand in hand to produce sales. I also regularly educate myself on the latest SEO strategies to ensure the content I create ranks highly with search engines. I'm currently working on finishing a 28 hour SEO course and will continue to take courses as SEO is ever-changing. I also utilize tools like Grammarly and Lingofy to ensure my work is spotless and adheres to AP Style if necessary.

So, my ability to produce excellent copy is strong and my business experience is deep, but what am I like to actually work with? Nothing is worse than poor communication and lack of attention to detail when dealing with a freelancer, so I take care to be excellent at both. I use Trello to organize all of my client projects with detailed checklists and due dates, and I’m more than happy to create a Team Board in Trello if collaborating that way is easier for you. I’m also readily available via email, text, and phone. The success of your project is of utmost importance to me!

I'm working on building a list of regular clients that I can generate amazing results for. Preferably, clients who are looking for a freelancer who's reliable, mindful, a strong communicator, focuses on sales outcomes, and possess a strong understanding of marketing strategy. Someone who can understand the overall business picture, not just the singular writing task at hand.
