I am Gaiya Julius, a Conflict Stability, Human Rights (Protection) and Security Professional with a background in Program Management, safety and security risk management, human rights advocacy and track record in community self-protection and advocacy.
At CSCDC, I have delivered bespoke training on security awareness, anti-kidnapping, journey management, cybersecurity and provided specialist advise to clients in Northwest and Northeast Nigeria.
At the Center for Civilians in Conflict Abuja and Maiduguri Offices, I have successfully implemented targeted conflict, human rights and security programs, delivered comprehensive training on protection of civilians at various institutions of the Nigerian Armed Forces and Personnel of other security agencies, led advocacy for the Protection of Civilians to High-Level stakeholders in government. I have a proven track record of monitoring program progress, adapting to new roles to achieve organization success, while ensuring effective and efficient task completion.
With a Master of Arts in Conflict, Peace, and Strategic Studies, and MA in law Enforcement and Criminal Justice as well as certifications in security risk management, cyber security and Project management amongst others, I bring a well-rounded skill set to my work.

ACHIEVEMENTS
Trained over 15,000 Nigerian Armed Forces and Paramilitary Personnel on the concept of Protection of civilians and Law of Armed Conflict, to improve the conduct of operations in a way that mitigates and respond to civilian harm at various military training institutions, including the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre, Army War College, Nigeria, Nigerian Airforce War College, Nigerian Airforce Military Training Centre, Nigerian Airforce Regiment Training Centre, Armed Forces Command and Staff College and Nigerian Defence Academy. While also providing communities with basic training on self-protection.
Supported the design and implementation of multiple EU and FCDO funded projects on conflict stability and security in Nigeria.
Designed and delivered training on security awareness for National Youth Service Corp Members to educate over 6,000 National Youth Service Corp Members on security and safety awareness. The aim of the training was to equip the Corps members with the necessary knowledge and skills to identify common security challenges and adopt preventive measures during their service year. The session covered topics ranging from common security challenges peculiar to the state of deployment to safety guidelines while traveling, how to cope during kidnapping incident, cyber security and safe conduct at places of primary assignment.
