I have lived in and worked for companies in both the United States and Europe. I received extensive in-house technical training by the companies I worked for. My work has been consistently deemed as highly satisfactory by clients. You can trust that I will give your project the seriousness that it deserves. Having lived and worked in countries such as Japan, Canada, USA, Spain, South Africa and Mexico helps me to understand the differences in cultures and in the English language itself.
Employment:
From April 13, to July 15, 2015, I worked for Colegio Everest in Zacatecas as English Teacher for Junior High School.
From: January 1985 up to now I have been doing technical translations for clients that I’ve had for years, around the world; such as Languagewire in Denmark. I’ve been also doing some over the phone consecutive interpretations for private individuals and a few companies.
From: August 2012 – To July 2013, Minera Peñasquito; (I sold the English course from UNID (local University) to Minera Peñasquito), worked as English Teacher for the Management team, in the Intermediate and Advanced levels.
From August 2010 – To July 7, 2012, UNID Fresnillo and Zacatecas; worked as Coordinator and English Teacher in the Intermediate I and II levels. As a coordinator, I was in charge of interviewing, selecting, hiring, and training and supervising all of the English Teachers in both cities, making sure all of their students were working with the online internet platform besides the live classes.
From September 2007 – To July 2012, Escuela de Ingles Nueva América in Fresnillo; worked as a part-time English Teacher for the advanced levels.
From January 1999 – To 2007, Cia. Minera Fresnillo S.A. de C.V., Minera Sabinas (Sombrerete), and Fco. I. Madero’s mine; worked as English Teacher, simultaneous and consecutive over the phone interpreter and technical translator. In all of these three mines that belonged to Penoles Group at the time, I was teaching technical English to most of the engineers of the management teams; I also worked as simultaneous interpreter when installing, repairing, or whilst foreign companies were training the local mines’ engineers about the use of high-tech equipment.
Education:
Graduated in 1976 from CECyT #138, Fresnillo Zac., where I got the 1st. place in the English Class. In 1986 I got the G.E.D. from Imperial Valley College in Imperial California.
Started teaching in 1983 in a church in Calexico California.
Whilst still going to college I was hired by a company from Vancouver Canada, called “Wedge Clamp, Inc.”; started as a sales representative and later on, I became an International Sales Manager and I had to interview, select, hire and train sales people as well as travel to countries such as Spain, Japan, Canada, the US, and South Africa. Wedge Clamp manufactured a unique frame straightening system which I marketed in the countries mentioned above.

I really do feel that genuine translation of text requires understanding of the text, and understanding requires having lived in the world and dealt with the physical world and is not just a question of manipulating words.
Spanish - creo que una buena traducción presupone entender el texto, y que a su vez esto presupone haber vivido en el mundo real y no limitarse simplemente a manipular las palabras.
Specialization: Fully bilingual EN (British/American)-ES (Spain/Latin America). I have worked in several countries as simultaneous/consecutive interpreter from and into English-Spanish. In Mexico, I have worked for a number of years for PENOLES (www.minerafresnilloplc.com); the world’s largest silver mining company, working with engineers from different countries, such as Finland, England, Canada, USA, Switzerland, South Africa, Australia, who do not speak Spanish, and I did the interpreting for the local engineers.
Translations: From Spanish, into English (American and British), and from English into Spanish (Mexican/Latin American and Spain’s)
