Julie A Mayfield

My mother was a writer and editor for newspapers in Olympia and Seattle, Washington and in Alaska, so I grew up with a writing background. I enjoy writing/word-smithing and editing/proofreading. I appreciate very clear but compelling communication when it's needed, and decorative writing when it's needed. My extensive travel experiences and BA in Liberal Arts are very conducive to writing and editing in myriad projects. I minored in German.

I worked as a technical writer and editor/proofreader for Jacobs Engineering's Environmental Services for six years. I've recently been a contributing editor to the 2019 Grand Prize-winning book Storm at the Keizer Manor, by Ramcy Diek, awarded by Top Shelf Magazine. I'm the go-to writing/editing person in all my jobs, regardless of my official title. I am a co-organizer of local music events and festivals so I write advertising language for promotions. I send out a weekly email about local music events to 200 people. I have a very flexible world outlook.
