I am a qualitative researcher and a quantitative data analyst who can examine pertinent issues through Maltego and STATA. I have recently completed a data analysis course and a MA in International Conflict Studies at King’s College London, with a special focus on China. At my previous job, I would conduct day to day analysis, write reports and be the first point of contact for clients on political information and strategy. I am proficient at interpreting high volumes of data – at Cascade I would have to analyse raw reports and data from construction sites at Battersea Power Station, One Nine Elms and The Knightsbridge Estate and then write reports and newsletters to a residential and political stakeholder audience. I am experienced working under pressure with short deadlines following unexpected events. During the first UK Covid lockdown, where all construction sites had to immediately stop, I had to write reports and provide updates on the status of construction programmes to clients. As a I am responsive to changing environments, where I advised our clients on the changes to planning policy with the predicted and then eventual Labour victory in the London Borough of Wandsworth, and how it could alter their plans stricter provisions for social housing, public amenities and changes to the Community Infrastructure Levy.
Moreover, through my previous job and data analysis course, I am proficient in quantitative data and research methods. During my Policy Analytics course, I analysed and assessed the reliability and validity on data from the Quality of Government Database. In addition, during my MA, I learnt through OSINT research that the protesters blocking the Lachin corridor in Nagorno-Karabakh were sent by the Azeri government. And in my dissertation, I analysed Chinese ambitions and methods of control in the South China Sea, drawing parallels with the colonial Dutch in the East Indies. At my previous job, I inputted and analysed data on key issues facing voters and residents, regarding the conversion of a former coal power plant and other developments. At Cascade, as part of my research on the 2022 Local Elections, I was published twice the Public Affairs Networking website.
Geopolitical research has always been my passion and the sphere I have wanted to work in. All of my further studies have been completed with the aim of working in a geopolitical analyst role. Through my education, experience and ambition I believe I have a solid foundation to become an analyst.
