The Medical City | Junior Intern (August 2017 – November 2017)
Patient interview and assessment. Receives patients and writes a detailed and thorough patient history and physical examination for initial assessment, which is then referred to a resident physician for further assessment and plan of management.
1st/2nd assist during surgical procedures. Serves as 1st/2nd assist during surgical procedures by retraction of surgical wounds/cleaning the surgical field by suctioning/washing with water. Also writes post-operation histopathological reports based on specimens collected during the operation. After the operation, monitors the patients who are sent into the recovery room to ensure a stable post-operation recovery period for the patients.
Case presentations. Patients are assigned and are (with their consent) used as subjects for case presentations, which are presented to consultant physicians. The content of the presentations include the patient history of present illness, past medical history, personal and social history, assessment, and plan of management.
Strategic Management
Strategic management presentation. Created a strategic management presentation on Sun Life Insurance Philippines, which highlighted their financial situation, competitive position in relation to competitors, and strategic suggestions that will help improve their standing.

Thesis Paper on the Availment Rate of PhilHealth Insurance Among Residents of Barangay Pansol, Quezon City, Philippines
Conducted a thesis concerning the rate of availment of PhilHealth Insurance among residents of Barangay Pansol, Quezon City, Philippines. The method of data collection involved door-to-door surveys of residents, and inputting data on questionnaires which were then statistically analysed, and thereafter interpreted into a thesis paper, which was then presented to a panel consisting of public health officials and specialists. Gained experience in writing research-oriented papers.

I am active on social media, and the information that I consume often gets put into words in the form of tweets, status posts, or blog posts on websites. Being a big basketball fan, I am often writing analyses of basketball statistics, plays, and tendencies in the form of posts on Reddit. I also comment on a variety of topics not limited to sports, such as politics, pop culture, social phenomena, etc. I put thoughts into words in order to practice my skills in writing, because I firmly believe that it is something that I am passionate about, and it is something I see myself doing for the entirety of my life, whether it be about sports, or anything in general. My mind actively seeks an outlet, and I believe that writing is the perfect outlet for me.
