Jose Alberto Rios

I studied my bachelor in Bogota (Colombia), country where I come from, on Politic Sciences in the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. During my bachelor studies, I realized how motivating were for me the topics and the work related to violence, conflict resolution and peace building; actually, throughout the last semesters of my bachelor I chose the specialization of Conflict Resolution and Peace Research. Meanwhile, I was engaged in social missions with an organization named The Rotary Foundation, with which I developed activities and projects on humanitarian assistance to vulnerable population (children, low-resources families, peasants) and restoration of natural environment, within teams made up of professionals in different areas (psychology, law, sociology, and so on); that experience helped me to fortify my skills on teamwork and projects building. Before I got my degree, I started my professional experience in a research foundation in Bogota named Con-ciencia Social, in which I developed fruitful research tasks on different social topics under investigation in the team. Some months after my bachelor degree was obtained, I decided to start my graduate studies in Belarus, initially studying Russian language in the preparatory faculty of the Belarusian National Technical University, with great results; secondly, I started my master degree of International Relations in the Belarusian State University (English-language mode), and on May 25th 2024 I received my degree. While I was doing my master degree, I carried out a practical job with the ICRC-Mission in Belarus, doing research and reporting tasks (both in English and Russian) to support the office’s projects. During my last vacations’ season in the US, I earned ISC2 CC certified in cybersecurity and CompTIA Security+ Certified, as this field of interest has drawn my attention; furthermore, I’ve got basic knowledge in coding languages (Python, SQL) using free code camps. I’ve got job experience in international affairs at the ICRC Mission in Belarus, research and data management skills in the Research Center ‘Conciencia Social’ in Bogota and administrative experience in the company ASDA Seguridad Ltda, in Bogota too.
