At the formation of the team the product had never seen higher than 5% yields or numbers of shipments more than a few percent of schedule, after 5 years of development and refinement. Process Development and Manufacturing engineering Manufacturing Engineering and Process Development: Supported Manufacturing and Quality Engineering with processes that reduced defects, sped up manufacturing time and were simpler for operators to learn and implement. New Product Introduction: Manufacturing member of Concurrent Engineering Design Team. Worked with the team from concept phase to rollout to ensure new product design incorporated Design for Manufacturability, reliability and serviceability. Participated in seven new product introductions, for four different companies. Quality System Management Quality Manager: Tasked with the responsibility of obtaining AS9100 Rev D Certification for an Aerospace Company in under 4 months. Most CB’s recommend 10-12 months. Completely revamped documentation system, trained employees and headed certification audit. Successfully obtained certification with 1 minor finding in Stage 2 Audit with no other findings or observations. Worked closely with Executive Management to position company for higher yields, quality and on-time delivery for aerospace and firearms customers. OTD improved 40% within 4 months. Development engineering Responsible Engineer: Loaned to design team to implement modifications to existing designs. Worked with vendors to acquire prototypes, tested and confirmed functionality and made changes as required. Field engineering Technical Support Engineer: Provide front line phone support to field engineers for Medical Ultrasound equipment. Act as liaison between Field Engineers/Doctors and Hardware/Software Design when problems exceeded standard support protocols. Federal Regulatory Compliance Manufacturing Processes and Documentation: Revamped SOP’s to bring company-wide documentation into FDA compliance with GMP’s/ISO9000 as well as to improve readability, manufacturability, and profitability. Defect Reduction: Effective at identifying and mitigating “out of control” processes. Reduced defibrillator in-process defects by 65%. Reduced packaging in-process defects by 75%. Partnered with Quality Engineering (in-process measurement tools) to reduce these defects, keeping regulatory agency exposure and internal costs to a minimum. ATF Compliance: Responsible for firearm inventory in both manufacturing and retail environments. Single point of contact with ATF. Provided corporate interface with gun inventory software provider. Trained company in ATF regulation and requirements. Wrote documents to standardize internal firearm handling procedures.
