Monitor and maintain a 600-user QlikView environment, whilst working on a QlikView optimization model

PREVIOUS EMPLOYMENT
COMPANY
Keyrus South Africa.
POSITION
Principle Consultant
PERIOD
November 2017 to April 2018
RESPONSIBILITIES
Keyrus opened a branch in Johannesburg.
• The idea was to assist the Durban people with Qlik related work currently being handled from Durban
and eventually handling all these projects locally.
• Assist the Sales people with the Sales process.
• Learn a new product – BI360 budgeting and forecasting – to increase the product scope.
The most meaningful workpiece completed here was an NPrinting project.
Unfortunately we had a personal crises at home and those responsibilities needed more time. I resigned from

PREVIOUS EMPLOYMENT
COMPANY
Bayport International Group Support.
POSITION
BI Analyst
PERIOD
June 2014 to April 2017
RESPONSIBILITIES
Bayport could not offer me a contract, they could only make me an employee. I decided to accept this because
it was long term and it was in an environment, micro lending, where I had no BI experience.
My primary function was to monitor and maintain existing QlikView environments and production applications in
RSA and Colombia.
As it is a growing QlikView environment in BIGS, advice Business and Infrastructure regarding what will be
required for each country when their “in house” application is rolled out into each country, as well as the
consolidated QlikView environment in SA.
Obtain requirements from countries of additional BI requirements, design and develop new QlikView applications
to be used in each country as well as consolidated versions thereof. The idea is not to end up with country
specific apps. For consolidated versions, the PoPI act must be kept in mind.
Applications developed:
ETL processes that could be used for the ODS;
Loan Application Process Workflow;
Sales Model;
Debtors Model;
Contributed heavily in all the Migration processes for the new application;

Inside Analytics
Independent QlikView Consultant
COMPANY
Formally T/A BiWorx – Now Inside Analytics Pty Ltd.
POSITION
Independent QlikView Consultant
QlikView Implementation Partner
PERIOD
July 2009 to Present
While doing Alchemex reports I came across QlikView. QlikView had a lot more functionality and after some
training I managed to land my first project. What was clear to me was that QlikView would be much more
‘rewarding’ and the project would be of a longer term nature. As I did more and more QlikView projects the
Alchemex work fell by the wayside.
With QlikView I do the design, development and implementation of the solutions. I have implemented versions
8.5, 9, 10 and 11. As a QlikView Implementation Partner, I generate my own implementations and have an
arrangement with QlikView Partners to handle projects on their behalf when they do not have resources
available.
Applications implemented thus far:
Sales, Logistics, Production, Gaming, Financial and Service / Maintenance.
PREVIOUS EMPLOYMENT
Independent Alchemex Consultant
COMPANY
Self Employed – T/A BiWorx
POSITION
Independent Alchemex Consultant
PERIOD
February 2007 to about July 2010
FUNCTION
After Multi-door I did not know exactly what to do, but I wanted to get back into the IT arena. By chance, a
friend of ours needed some Excel help. During this help it came out that the software her company was
implementing and supporting had just released a reporting module which was able to get data from your Pastel
accounting package into Excel. From here you could create some nifty reports. I investigated this further and
decided I really enjoyed the reporting side. I went for training and registered as a consultant with Alchemex.
Alchemex would then forward support leads to consultants.
I implemented and supported Pastel Clients who had the BIC module. The standard reports used by BIC would
be sufficient for the Clients using the standard field. Most companies however made use of used defined fields
and it was then necessary to either customize or create new reports via the BIC module.

VENTURE
Multi-Door
During the time at Namitech I had gotten involved as a ‘silent’ partner in a venture where we were
manufacturing security barriers for doors and windows. A factory was set up for the purpose on manufacturing
retractable security doors. The venture had taken off better than what we expected and I decided to join the
business full time. All processes were taken care of in one factory.
Apart from handling the daily issues of running your own business my main functions were:
Stock control was critical
Financial control
Quality control – on the manufactured product
Quality control – installations – I tried to “sign-off” as many installations as possible
After about two years of operating I decided to sell my share in the business. The venture was established in
2003 and I sold out in the beginning of 2006.

CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS
Inside Analytics – (QlikView)
Being in a unique position where I have had the benefit of working with different Qlik Partners, I have had the
opportunity of seeing how people ‘do things’. Being in this position has also given me the benefit of working in a
variety fields.
The biggest achievement, and most satisfying, in the QlikView space was the time at BIGS. I had the
opportunity of developing QlikView Apps from start to finish, covering all aspects of the Projects. Interfacing
with Business to deploying the apps.
What I enjoy about BI, is that it is, and probably always will be, a constant learning curve.
Tsogosun
At Tsogosun I was on the Start-up Team. We had to set up the company from scratch. This included
establishing our own internal infrastructure. Developing the infrastructure requirements for our first Casino. Staff
recruitment, maintenance agreements, daily meetings with the Professional Team, (architects, electrical
consultants, interior designers, air-conditioning consultants) networking companies and computer supply
companies.
The Casinos we started up were in the following order and also listed is the function filled:
Sundome Casino – IT Management / Project Management
Emnotweni Temporary Casino – IT Management / Project Management
Champions Temporary Casino – IT Management / Project Management
Emnotweni Permanent Casino – Project Management
Montecasino – Project Management
Suncoast Casino – Contract Project Manager. Prepared all operational equipment budget and
built the installation project plan prior to leaving their employ.
The most stressful of these was the Sundome because it was the first. The most rewarding and biggest in terms
of grandeur and budget was Montecasino. The total budget I was responsible for was just under R220M.
I see the Tsogosun phase as an achievement because as the gaming licenses are awarded by the Gaming
Board, you had to start developing to avoid penalties. No penalties were incurred.
Namitech Limited
Namitech Limited, Gaming Division, was tasked to design a complete Gaming System, both software and
hardware. William Wilsnagh headed the division up. I joined Namitech about 8 months into the Project on a
contract basis. An agreement had be entered into between Namitech and Tusk Resorts to develop the System
on their behalf and use one of their Casinos as a test site. During the contract I managed the following Projects:
Namitech Gaming Management System – software and hardware
Smart Cashier – ATM like unit found in most casinos
Tusk Mmabatho - Pilot site installations – all versions were tested here
Tusk Umfolozi installation – first regulated Namitech system installed
Tusk Mmabatho - Roll out to the main floor – moved from test environment to live environment
Tusk Venda - Initial Project planning – project to convert entire floor to the Namitech system
The system was and still is the only “local” system to be developed for the Gaming industry. When many said
the project would fail, it is running in various regulated casinos.
