Johanna Marcela Ascencio Medina

I am an audiovisual communicator with experience in the creation of documentary projects, addressing social issues (such as gender and migration) whose narrative axes are human stories. My trajectory also extends to the production of promotional and institutional videos; in the end, each product tells its own human stories.

I have been director, scriptwriter and researcher for several of these projects. In addition, my passion for video editing has made it a mainstay throughout my career. I love to see how technology facilitates and opens up infinite avenues for storytelling.

Additionally, I am a cultural manager and proud co-creator of 'Otro Sur'. With this foundation, and in pursuit of promoting social dialogue and enriching the cultural landscape, I have developed and coordinated the execution of film festivals, concerts and talks.

My ability to communicate is not limited to the screen; I am fluent in Spanish, English (C1) and French (C1). I am also fluent in Portuguese and German.
