FAQ’s:
1.
Setting the Time – Using the small dial on the back or the minute hand turn in a SLOW clockwise direction until both hands reach
the desired time. NEVER manually move the hour hand or wind the clock backwards.
2.
I can’t hear my clock ticking –there is nothing more annoying than a loud clock! We only select quiet mechanisms for our clocks,
silence is golden!
3.
Then how do I know if it is working? - Our clocks do not have second hands, watch carefully; can you see the minute hand
ticking? Yes, time is ticking. No, let us help you troubleshoot the problem!
Although we select high quality, high torque, US made mechanisms for all our clocks, as with all things with exposed moving parts,
sometimes a little troubleshooting is needed.
Troubleshooting:
1.
Check the battery – I know it seems obvious, but once your clock is complete we run it in our workshop to ensure everything is
working perfectly, sometimes the batteries get tired.
2.
Are the hands passing each other? – In transit the hands can get a little caught up on each other. Separate the hands by using
ever so light pressure to bend them straight.
3.
The hour hand is getting stuck on the clocks surface? - Although we endeavour to ensure the mechanism is long enough to
allow adequate clearance of the clocks surface not all spools are perfectly aligned, the hour hand can get caught on the uneven
surface! Again use ever so light pressure to bend it straight.
4.
Are the hands on tight?- Check the small nut that holds on the hands is tight and secure, if not tighten by hand and then use
pliers to give a quarter turn.
5.
Is the nut too tight? –If the nut that holds the hands on is too tight the hands can’t move – think straight jacket! Use pliers to ease
off the tension.
6.
Clock still not working? – Do not fear! Sometimes there is just a bad mechanism in the box. Contact us, we are happy to replace
your mechanism for you.-
