Joanna Mayumbelo

As I reflect on my journey so far, I'm reminded of the countless experiences that have shaped me into the person I am today. Growing up, I've always been fascinated by the world of STEM - the thrill of building something from scratch, the satisfaction of solving complex problems, and the excitement of exploring new ideas.

I've been fortunate enough to participate in several robotics boot camps, where I honed my skills in programming, electronics, and robotics. One of my proudest moments was winning the JETS Fair not once, but twice in a row! This experience taught me the value of perseverance, hard work, and teamwork.

But I'm not just about tech. I've also had a passion for writing and storytelling. As Vice President of the Writing Department at Roma Girls' Secondary School, I had the opportunity to nurture my creative side and help others do the same. And as former Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper, I learned the importance of effective communication and collaboration.

Outside of school, I've been involved with several organizations that share my passion for STEM and community service. From the Teresa Heart Foundation to the Junior Inventive Society of Scientists, I've met incredible people who inspire me to make a difference.

One project that I'm particularly proud of is designing the front-end of a cross-platform health application. It was an incredible learning experience that taught me the value of perseverance, creativity, and collaboration. I'm excited to continue exploring the intersection of technology and healthcare, and to develop innovative solutions that can positively impact people's lives.

As I look to the future, I'm excited to take on new challenges, learn from others, and make a meaningful impact. I'm confident that my unique blend of technical and creative skills, combined with my passion for learning and growth, will enable me to achieve great things. I'm looking forward to collaborating with like-minded individuals and contributing to impactful projects that can drive positive change.
