I have three years of experience in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), during which I honed my communication and teaching skills while balancing work and academic commitments. I pursued a degree in Computer Science at Mindanao State University – Maigo School of Arts and Trades, where I successfully graduated, and during my time at university, I worked as a student since my second year. Being a working student taught me valuable time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities while maintaining strong academic performance. My experience in ESL allowed me to interact with a diverse group of individuals, enhancing my ability to adapt my communication style to meet the needs of various learners, fostering a positive and effective learning environment.
In addition to my ESL background, I gained practical experience working in different roles within my local municipality. I worked as a Tourism Office Clerk for two months, where I was responsible for assisting tourists and handling various administrative tasks. This role improved my organizational skills, customer service, and ability to work in a team. During my time as a Tourism Office Clerk, I interacted with local visitors, providing them with information, managing tourism records, and ensuring smooth operations within the office. Additionally, I worked as a QGIS Mapper for three months, where I utilized Geographic Information System (GIS) tools to map out local areas and create accurate geographical data. This role allowed me to further develop my technical skills, particularly in using QGIS software, and gave me experience in data analysis and mapping, which are valuable skills in various fields, including urban planning and development.
Furthermore, I have some exposure to inflow chatter, which has given me insights into customer interaction and communication in real-time. This experience has allowed me to better understand the dynamics of customer service, as well as the importance of maintaining professionalism and clear communication in virtual spaces. Working in these varied roles has broadened my skill set, allowing me to blend my technical knowledge from Computer Science with real-world experiences in customer service, tourism, and data management. My diverse work experiences have provided me with a well-rounded skill set that I believe will serve me well in future professional opportunities. I am confident that my ability to learn quickly, adapt to new environments, and apply my knowledge in different settings will allow me to succeed in any role I pursue.
