Anybody today can make a hubstaff, upwork, or fiverr account saying they are the right match for you.

If you are a veteran HR manager or CEO, then most likely you've experienced "not so good" copywriters before and now have "the eye" for the best freelancers online.

But if you haven't got the chance to outsource before, or you just want to make the best investment, of course you need to equip yourself with the right strategy to choose your candidate.

Here are some tips.

1. The right copywriter would read through your job offer. This starts with the way you craft your job offer. Make sure you put in specific instructions like "put the word bananas in your letter." This way, you can make sure that whoever applied to you actually read your job offer and assessed first whether he/she can help you out.

2. The right copywriter would want to know your problem or problems first. Copywriters who just says "Hey I do copywriting, just like who you're looking for, therefore, I'm a good match." I know, it's a little exaggerated but if the copywriter doesn't even bother what the project is about, how is your email strategy, or any question at all about your business, then it's a red flag!

3. They have a portfolio to show. Ask for relevant samples from your candidate so you can see for yourself if you two are a great fit. Anyone who says, "Ohhh my portfolio is private," or "I'm still preparing my portfolio," either don't actually have one or not organized enough to make one.

4. Next level Copywriters give you more than what you pay for. Choose wisely and your investment will be 2x 3x or even 6x returned to you!
