About

I was raised bilingual (German and English), and began my primary education in the USA and completed my schooling in Germany. Afterwards, I spent time in Bristol, England, working for a charity that offers counselling to women and young adults, and in Ghana, teaching English at a vocational school in a village near Kumasi. During the course of my bachelor degree at the Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg I completed a study abroad year at the Universidad Icesi in Cali, Colombia (enabling me to obtain a B2 level in Spanish), and a two-month internship at a youth center in a Palestinian refugee camp in Beirut, Lebanon. During my studies I always valued and actively searched for the opportunity to cultivate international contacts. Therefore, I became involved in the local Erasmus initiative at the University of Würzburg (a project funded by the German Academic Exchange Service to facilitate the integration of foreign exchange students) and supervised its events. Additionally, I managed a play group for children at a local refugee camp in Würzburg, and established a youth group within the camp community. Aside from my studies, I also worked as a freelance translator and editor for a local corporation, and as a German and English teacher for the Berlitz language schools. These experiences have made me accustomed to working independently, flexibly, and to be self-organizing.

Upon completing my master degree, I spent the last year working as a teacher for English, History and Geography for an international school in Amman, Jordan.
