About

I am a conscientious English BA graduate who has recently received a distinction for a Film and Television MA from the University of Bristol. On completing university in September 2020, I was accepted onto a competitive digital marketing internship at GradSmart. I was an integral part of GradSmart’s content creation team, of which I was responsible for managing their social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn), as well as engaging with clients and Influencers, creating posts and videos, and writing articles and social copy. I am therefore proficient in MS Office, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Premier Pro, Photoshop, Canva, Audacity, and Notion. In my first week I proved my ability to take initiative as I adopted a leading role in the social media marketing campaign for GradSmart’s newly launched personality test (writing the social copy and creating the post designs). I also introduced (and independently created the video structure and style) for a new advice section on GradSmart’s Instagram reel. Furthermore, my experience at GradSmart demonstrates that I am confident within an administrative role as well as a creative team. It also shows that I have experience in initiating new ideas and working to a tight schedule, as well as my work ethic: I am a self-starter, and I am always dedicated to furthering my skillset in the digital sector.

In my English degree I have demonstrated a high level of written communication and exceptional research skills. I was required to read three novels a week, and alongside my studies I was consistently seeking out new projects in the media sector. I explored my journalistic skills when I wrote an article for Epigram, interviewed people for the University of Bristol’s Television Society, and became a presenter and podcaster for the Burst Radio News Team, where I also researched news articles and wrote news bulletins for shows on popular culture. I then acquired my own radio show entitled ‘Girls on Film’. I have also been a presenter for Hospital Radio Norwich, completed a course with the BFI, been a home tutor, and maintained a part-time hospitality job. I therefore have exceptional organisational skills, an ambitious personality, and I thrive off working in a fast-paced environment where I can communicate with a diverse range of people.

During lockdown, I have been remaining proactive by experimenting with designing one-minute briefs for advertisements, writing blog posts, and practicing my copywriting skills by putting together a portfolio to showcase my skills. With exemplary interpersonal skills, a creative eye, and experience working with a range of media, I am looking for my next role as a digital assistant for an innovative company.
