I have always possessed a passion for reading and writing. That passion fueled my desire to study Language Arts in college and eventually receive a bachelor's degree in English. The same passion also led me to work at a local bookstore while I went to school to earn a master's degree in Educational Counseling. While working at the bookstore for seven years, I wrote a great deal of book recommendations and read countless titles from different genres. My eight years as a school counselor gave me the opportunity to utilize my writing skills in various ways, including creating academic reports and writing school newsletters.

Beyond my work experience, I also took a creative writing class taught by a local author. During the class, I had the opportunity to not only write my own stories, but to also read and critique other people's work. I also had the privilege of writing a health pamphlet for a local community college.

As a result of my extensive reading and writing experience, I have developed a strong vocabulary, a firm grasp of writing style and tone, and the ability to spot words used in the wrong context. Some other strengths that I possess are patience with tedious tasks, excellent communication skills, and a strong work ethic.
