Microbiology: I worked on various bacteriology and serology benches. I am trained on several
different CLIA-waived tests, fluorescent microscopy, and BACTEC blood culture system. We
used the MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry instrument for organism identification.

Generalist: I worked on second shift as a generalist in hematology, chemistry, microbiology,
urinalysis, and blood bank. Ultimately became a senior tech.

Microbiology: I worked in setups, various bacteriology benches, as well as virology.
Miscellaneous: I also worked from July of 2006-August of 2007 as a traveling medical
technologist. The company I worked for is called Aureus Medical Group. I worked in
microbiology in St. Louis, MO for three months, as well as in Anchorage, AK for six months and
then moved to Kotzebue, AK for six months where I worked as a generalist in a 17 bed
hospital. In Kotzebue I drew blood from patients, ran the hematology, chemistry and
coagulation tests with one other tech and was solely responsible for the microbiology
department..
