M.Phil. Project: Life behind the Veil: The Plight of Afghan Women in the select Novels of Siba Shakib
Synopsis: This Project stipulates the valiant features and various aspects of the two debut novels, Afghanistan
Where God Only Comes to Weep and Samira & Samir written by Siba Shakib. The main aim of this project was to
identify the provision of fertile ground for further research & analysis in the study of the History and Culture of
Afghans in these novels.

M.A. Project: Lifting the Guilt through Redemption in Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner
Synopsis: This Project explores the Social and Cultural background of the novel – The Kite Runner – written by
Khaled Hosseini which in turn shows the redeeming sprit of Amir’s life who is in search of ethnic identity,
redemption of guilt and forgiveness. This exploration throws light on the further scope of research in this novel.

B.A. Project: Role Of Water In Amitav Ghosh’s ‘The Hungry Tides’
Synopsis: The aim of the Project is to analyze the role of Water in Amitav Ghosh’s The Hungry Tide gives an
account of the river in the novel, projected as a potent and formidable entity, charting its own course gathering all
that comes in a way creating and decimating land in its journey to the sea.
