I have multiple experiences as an assistant in several fields including the legal field, Spelman College archives, non-profits, churches and fashion and styling. My skills are transferable across fields. I am an active listener, a strategic planner, a communicator and I am able to find creative solutions when necessary. My education in religious studies and theology provides me a unique openness when engaging with diverse communities as well as research and academic writing skills. My education and travel in international business, and my work in sales has given me the ability to perform market research, cold calling, B2B sales, outside sales, and the knowledge of sales cycles in governments and schools. My experiences in the fashion industry taught me how to think quickly and creatively on my feet, how to brainstorm and keep innovative ideas flowing, coordinating product shoots, selecting and buying merchandise and event planning. My experience as the first full-time legal assistant in Dallas County District Attorneys' Office taught me that we make history by fighting for what we believe in. In this role I've increased the success rate of the DA's Office by 100%. I interface with clerks, sheriffs' attorney's' and judges to ensure that citations have been requested a served. I've been able to build upon my communication skills, coordination and strategic planning. I went into this roll with a goal to become the first full-time assistant in the department and I accomplished that goal in less than a year. I want a career that is purposeful and I am motivated by helping others reach their full potential, that is why I am applying for this role.
