About

As a dedicated load controller for the ATR 42/72 fleet, you’ve become an essential part of safe and efficient flight operations. From early morning ramp-ups to late-night turnarounds, you’re the one ensuring the aircraft’s weight and balance are spot-on—meticulously gathering passenger counts, cargo loads, and fuel figures, then calculating zero-fuel weight, takeoff weight, and center of gravity with precision. Your expertise with specialized load planning software (such as MACS, DCS, or Amadeus) allows you to finalize accurate load sheets even when last-minute shifts occur, and you coordinate seamlessly with ground staff to implement these updates.

You’re well-versed in regulatory compliance, particularly IATA standards for weight and balance and the handling of special cargo, including dangerous goods. You generate NOTOC and other mandatory documentation, then sign off the load plan before handing it to the Captain. In parallel, you maintain thorough records, updating dispatch and destination stations once the aircraft is in the air.

Collaboration comes naturally to you. You communicate clearly and confidently with ramp crews, cargo agents, pilots, and dispatchers—often under intense time pressure. When live changes happen, you’re the one who quickly recalculates, issues new instructions, and reassures everyone that the new load configuration maintains safety margins. Your communication style is authoritative yet approachable, getting results without friction.

Your commitment to accuracy and documentation has consistently led to improved on-time performance and reduced loading errors. You spot discrepancies early, preventing potential delays or safety issues. When audits or safety reviews come around, your reports are always complete, accurate, and well-organized—reflecting both compliance and professionalism.

The fast-paced nature of regional turboprop operations suits you well. You thrive in dynamic environments where a calm demeanor and sharp attention to detail make all the difference. Whether handling fluctuating passenger numbers, last-minute cargo swaps, or unexpected fuel changes, you stay level-headed and solution-focused.

Beyond your operational duties, you’re always investing in professional development. You've kept pace with updates to SOPs, software tools, and IATA regulations. You’ve attended airside safety sessions and participated in internal training, mentoring newer colleagues who are just learning the subtleties of ATR weight and balance nuances.

Above all, you’re safety-driven—never compromising on standards, and always seeking ways to refine processes. Your ability to juggle technical calculations, compliance demands, and teamwork with clarity and composure makes you an anchor in any load control operation. In short, you’re the reliable specialist behind every smooth ATR departure.
