Major Responsibilities - Cash Management Functions:
·
Act as a primary holder and custodian of one of the combination dial of
the main vault door, cash safe and ATM.
·
Monitor the daily cash requirements (Peso and Dollar) of the branch
and sees to it that Cash-in-Vault and Cash-in-ATM level is always within
branch insurance limit.
·
Primarily accountable for the physical custody of the monies,
accountable forms, securities collateral and other items of value within the
vault premises.
Deposit Operation Function - New Accounts and Tellering Functions:
·
Supervise opening of quality accounts according to the “know-yourcustomer”.
·
Interview prospective customers and ensure that the required
minimum information and/or documentary requirements are submitted prior
approval of all new account openings.
·
Secure proper approval of accounts allowed to open with documentary
deficiencies.
·
Maintain complete, accurate and updated customer information,
documents and records of all clients and accounts at all times.
·
Review, verify signature and approve up to authorized limits
withdrawals and encashment transactions beyond the Teller’s authority.
Secure co-approval as required.
·
Confirm withdrawals through representatives, including big amounts
from drawers or signatories.
·
Supervises the Teller in processing over-the-counter transactions, and
ensure that fast and efficient service is maintained. Override transactions
upon request of Teller/Service Associate.
Internal Control and Compliance Functions:
·
Monitor adherence to existing policies, procedures, minimum internal
control requirements and administrative authorities based on existing
Operations Manual, BSP Regulations and other standards set by the financial
regulatory bodies.
·
Ensure that all controls over the CASA system and other applications
being used by the Banks are being followed.
·
Ensure that access to the vault is authorized and documented at all
times and that custodianship to the branch keys and main vault/Cash
Safe/ATM safe combinations are documented and on file.
Marketing Functions:
·
Cross-sell bank products and services to depositors and borrowing
clients. Encourage investment clients to open and maintain CASA deposit.
People Management And Development Function:
·
Ensure that all branch personnel responsibilities and accountabilities
are clearly defined and delegated in writing.
·
Ensure that all branch personnel are well trained to handle their
respective positions through the conduct of in-house training, job rotation,
cross-posting or recommend branch personnel for training at Head Office.
·
Conduct regular PEP Talk/operation meeting with branch personnel to
discuss and keep them abreast of changes or updates on policies and
procedures or new products and services of the Bank
Administrative Functions:
·
Review and evaluate effectiveness of operational processes and
procedures and recommend revisions or enhancements to improve its
effectiveness in servicing clients needs and internal control as well.
·
Prepare initial investigation and report on actual fraud cases.
Recommend appropriate disciplinary action on erring personnel if warranted.

Supervises the branch operation, Cash and accounting section of the
branch. Ensures the daily transactions are balance.

Prepares and ascertains the correctness of required reports to head
office, BSP, PDIC, BIR and other regular periodic reports.

Reviews and verifies correctness of interest on Time deposit maturity
values as computed by the system.

Opens the branch’s entrance door (Secondary Branch Key Holder).
Ensures branch is opened on time
•
Opens/Closes the upper or right hand combination of the main vault
door and Safe Vault and brings-out from the vault the accountables together
with the Vault Custodian
•
Opens the upper vault combination of the ATM. Performs cash
count/replenishment and reconciliation of the ATM as witnessed by the
designated personnel.
Retrieves and verifies cash/check deposit envelopes from the ATM deposit
bin, if any, or captured cards as witnessed by the designated personnel.
Inspects ATM for any sign of tampering.
Ensures the following before the branch opens to the public:
counter calendars are updated
deposit/withdrawal slips rack are adequately supplied with
deposit/withdrawal slips
counter pens are working
the lobby is clean, well lit and ventilated
the Security Guards are properly positioned
the Teller / New Accts Clerk are ready to service clients (BF Unibanks
systems/PC terminals, passbook printer, calculators are in good working
condition and rubber stamps are ready)
•
Signs the validated Cash Transfer Slip received from the Teller.
•
Approves withdrawals/encashment, debit/credit to account within the
delegated signing authority. Overrides transactions beyond teller’s authority
limit.
•
Monitors and maintains cash-in-vault within the approved limit.
Establishes the identity of client, especially for walk-in clients and clients
opening current account
•
Checks acceptability of identification cards presented, verifies
completeness and authenticity of account opening documents presented.
Verifies accuracy of the details in the posting media against the teller’s
validation at the end of day including the piece count of teller’s picos box.
Directly supervises Account Service Assistant/NAC, Teller and Security Guards
Cross-trains ASA/NACs such that they can perform tellering, new accounts
and cashiering functions.
Ensures that the bank premises (inside and outside) are always clean and
free of trash/dust; the glass panel/door is free from stains and comfort
room/pantry are clean and free from foul odor.
Ensures prudent expense management, as much as possible, maintains
expenses within the approved budget
