Am I the right fit for your team? Do you have a need for a customer-focused project/ implementation manager with solid information technology experience? Please give my resume a scan (I’ve tried to make it reasonably entertaining). If you think I would be a positive contributor to your organization, feel free to give me a call!-- I have extensive experience with all aspects of the system/software development life cycle (SDLC) and have focused on project/program management for the past 15 years. I am PMP and Scrum Master certified – however I feel the real key to bringing you a comprehensive project management skill-set is the depth of my practical acumen and my ability to see the big picture at all times. I strive to deliver stellar customer service. Establishing and maintaining a good customer relationship is extremely important to me. This holds true whether the customer is internal or external. I am adept at gathering and translating customer requirements, managing their expectations, and planning and managing deployment and implementation projects. I am equally at home with any of these methodologies and am also adept at working with outsourced and off-shore stakeholders and development teams. The first ten years of my career were spent as a software developer so I speak the language of software engineers as well as clients and C-level executives. As a PM I am usually responsible for everything but in charge of nobody. This means I have developed a knack for persuasion, while still being careful to make sure everybody gets heard. And when a directive has been issued I am skilled at making sure everybody gets on board and has a clear understanding of the game plan. Playing 17 years of first division soccer has really given me an understanding of the value of teamwork. I make sure to give credit where it is due and I respect the knowledge and experience of my co-workers. I foster brainstorming and collaboration when it’s beneficial, and I play well with others. Communication is one of the most important project professional’s skills. I will keep stakeholders and customers informed and up-to-date. I keep team members talking to each other. I post information that needs to be public. I listen well and take notes so I don’t need to be told anything twice. If I don't understand something, I ask questions until I do. I have an extraordinary ability to solve complex problems and think creatively – If you have a question, I will find an answer. If you have a puzzle I will do my best to solve it and if I can’t, then I will find the person who can. I am an expert at locating and vetting information and I love doing research. As a project manager it is up to me to find the solutions to any project issues that arise. My well-rounded level of expertise allows me to spot issues and risks developing well in advance -- and get a timely mitigation plan in place to prevent or minimize impacts to the project(s). I will adapt to the changing needs of the position. “That’s not my job” is not part of my vocabulary. I will try to find the most efficient way of doing my job. I am a multi-tasker when necessary and hate wasting time. If I see a process that is begging to be streamlined, I may come up with a proposal to change it. I know how to build win-win agreements and create partnerships that stand the test of time. It is all about the planning. I like to say there are no heroes on my teams because heroics are just a result of bad planning. I also have many years of experience doing risk assessment and keeping a watch for those unforeseen circumstances. I don't bring you a problem without also trying to bring a solution. Cohesive and engaging presentations are my forte and I actually really enjoy putting them together. Customers love it when I make processes and products visual and easy to follow. All weekly status and presentations are geared towards an executive level audience. With years of practice I know exactly how to distill information so that the key decision making factors are presented clearly and concisely. Since I am used to juggling several projects simultaneously, organization is one of my most important skills. My specialty is creating order out of chaos. A good project manager is on call 24/7 and there is nothing in my life that prevents me from traveling or working odd hours. If my phone rings at 3:00 in the morning it doesn't annoy me. Weekends, no problem. I am accustomed to working with geographically dispersed teams and across multiple time zones. I have managed budgets up to twelve million dollars. I know how to keep my eye on the bottom line and create and manage financial spreadsheets. I absolutely love doing research. If the information is out there, I will find it. And I know how to vet the information I find to get my facts straight. Sometimes I amaze people with the resolutions I can find for some of the most obscure predicaments. A good attitude is important. I have an excellent work ethic, and a positive approach to problem solving. Don't get me wrong, I am not one of those chirpy people, but I am friendly and pleasant to be around. I like humor and can laugh at myself. I give my employer my personal best. And you’d never know it from this resume, but I can actually be quite humble.
