Contributing Writer, Squawker Media – Remote – April 2018-Present
Another political news website, Squawker Media takes on a lot of pop culture-specific political news. I was responsible for choosing my own topic, researching and compiling data, targeting a new angle, and applying conservative commentary to the situation. Using Wordpress, I was responsible for building my entire post, from start to finish. I was also responsible for promoting my content online, utilizing several social media patforms.
Contributing Writer, Everyday Conservative – Remote – March 2018-May 2018
My responsibilities, as a writer, included: Writing engaging articles based on reference content provided by my editor. I was on a strict deadline, given 2 hours to complete each project, which typically entailed a 300-500 word article. Based on the reference article and the title from my editor, I was tasked with researching the political issue, the specific news information, creating a new angle, and providing some conservative commentary.
Contributing Writer, VatorNEWS– Remote – August 2017-October 2017
I was responsible for researching new and upcoming tech startups, who were seeking funding, for the purpose of creating an article to inform prospective investors. Most of my data was compiled through internet searches, relevant articles, and press releases. I also conducted interviews of company officials, for the express purpose of educating investors on new and exciting investment opportunities.
Department Lead Graphic Packaging - Oroville, CA - January 2014 to Present
As the Finishing Department Lead, I am responsible for overseeing the production and personnel for our entire department. There are between 20 and 25 employees, who receive their daily assignments directly from me. I am responsible for ensuring all employees abide by company safety standards, as well as meet daily production requirements. Twice a day I am responsible for presenting a production report to my fellow Department Leads, Department Managers, and other members of upper management. I am also responsible for interdepartmental communication via email, phone, or face to face conversation, whenever there is a need to exchange information. I work hand in hand with the production control and scheduling teams to create a daily plan of action, in order to maximize our opportunity for meeting our customers' needs. Our production facility tracks productivity and orders using SAP. I am responsible for ensuring all of my team members are accurately capturing and reporting daily production information. At the end of the shift, I compile several operational reports, from which I generate a full shift report, detailing the day's events.
Machine Operator Graphic Packaging International - Oroville, CA - May 2011 to December 2013
My current company, Graphic Packaging, purchased Sierra Pacific Packaging, so my responsibilities as an Operator carried over to the new company. However, there were some new responsibilities: We now have an even higher emphasis on safety, we take part in monthly Summit training, and I have recently learned, implemented, and taught LEAN Manufacturing practices with an emphasis on Total Productive Maintenance and 5S.
Machine Operator Sierra Pacific Packaging Inc - Oroville, CA - December 2009 to May 2011
I operated multiple Bobst Folder/Gluer machines. I learned all of the necessary computer programs/skills that were necessary to perform my job. I managed a 4-5 person crew everyday. We always kept safety as our #1 priority. I was solely responsible for my production line's production numbers. I used computer programs (Radius and Excel) to accurately account for and record daily production, waste, and downtime. I was responsible for checking with my inspector, and checking product myself to constantly monitor and maintain excellent quality of product.
Operator Trainee Express Personnel Services - Oroville, CA - August 2009 to December 2009
My job was to feed the machine (Bobst Domino 110 Folder/Gluer), clean and maintain my area, and learn the basic controls/troubleshooting of the machine.
Cashier/Barista/Food Prep Specialty's Cafe & Bakery - San Francisco, CA - August 2008 to March 2009
I started out as a barista and cashier. Customer service was a huge aspect of this job. I eventually moved to the kitchen, and did food prep and baking. I also served food orders, and delivered food to businesses.
Shift Supervisor Starbucks Coffee - Dublin, CA - August 2006 to May 2007
I started out as a Barista here, which entailed making espresso drinks, cashier, and providing the highest possible customer service. After a couple of months, I became a Shift Supervisor. As a shift supervisor, I was the Manager-on-Duty when the Store Manager was not there. I was responsible for orchestrating breaks and lunches, maintaining the stockroom, making sure our customer service level was superior, handling cash (employee register drops and store drops to the bank), opening and closing the store, and overall training and overseeing new employees on my shift.
