Have you read the famous poem "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost (1915)? A thought-provoking discussion of its true meaning as envisioned by Frost is detailed in an August 2016 article by Literary Hub. I will share my favourite part of the reading: "If we can't persist unchanged through any one choice, then every choice becomes a matter of existential significance - after all, we aren't merely deciding to go left or right; we're transforming our very selves."
I hope you made it to the second paragraph where I tell you more of what I know and love beyond poems, at least for now because as we have seen, even the single decision to write this bio will leave me a different person. I, like you (believe it or not), will know more about Ida Mwangi.
Currently, it feels like I am both at the doorstep of the finance world and deep in the maze that it is. Having finished my undergraduate just about a year ago, I haven't worked for long, but long enough to know that there are so many small worlds within this industry.
So far, impact investing has been a great home where I have been able to learn some analysis, modelling and credit management, not to mention the usual soft skills we need now more than ever. I have come to understand the importance of well-written emails that hit the communication bull's eye while being thoughtful, and the value of being able to work with people from diverse backgrounds in a team.
That being said, I have more to learn than my imaginative horizon can afford to know, but I know I am somewhere as it is. I have something to offer. It's just up to you to take a chance on me.
