Leading the GKS Project, which is an ‘Access Control System’ aimed to control and monitor
entrances and on-site navigation of the personnel and visitors at some of the military bases of Turkish
Army where entrances are in person or by vehicles. The bases may include a variety of restricted
areas, high security and critical zones, social facilities and offices. Biometric technologies, contactless
cards, hand-held devices, vehicle recognition systems are some of the technologies involved. The
project is being developed in JAVA and user interfaces are web-based with AngularJS.

Central Bank of North Cyprus Turkish Republic, Lefkoşa, North Cyprus.
I worked with the bank's team to design a tailored web-based EFT system to be established and
operated by the Central bank in North Cyprus to accomplish interbank electronic fund transfers. We
have prepared the technical specification of the project and a pre-bid Request-For-Proposal
document for the implementation of the project by third parties. Evaluated the incoming proposals and
determined the probable cost range depending on the competing features. The Board of Directors
was awaited for approval of the budget to go on with the project. Unfortunately, some political
developments related to the unification of the south and north to realize the “United states of Cyprus”
hindered the approval of the project.

SRDC is a spin-off company of the university lab SRDC with which I was associated during my Ph.D.
study. In the company SRDC, I worked as a senior researcher on a timed-contract associated with
several projects, mainly on the e-health domain, supported by the European Commission. My
research areas included web service semantics, semantic discovery, taxonomy, ontology,
personalization structures, electronic commerce and electronic market places, supply chains,
message driven systems, internet-based dynamic workflow management systems, dynamic agents
and multi-agent orchestration.
Java Skill Center Manager, May 2008 to August 2009.

I was the head of the Java skill center which accompanied more than thirty Java developers. Trained

Managed the Software Development Group, which was responsible for the development and
maintenance of the software needed to serve customers as well as its internal operations.
Worked on development the finance portal “www.isteyatirim.com.tr” with a team of four
programmers and two web designers. The portal included trading of bonds and securities, as well
as providing financial news and reports about the market. The project is based on C# and
.NET2.0 and aimed to serve 5000 concurrent portal users.
Worked on project for customization and integration with the general ledger system the IBM
WebSphere Commerce software used for the company operated e-commerce site
"www.yeterkiiste.com.tr". (The site was closed in July, 2010 due to "low profit")
Group Manager, May 1991 to April 2005.
Türkiye İş Bankası, Software Development Department, Istanbul, Turkey.
Worked in the Software Development Department of the bank, and managed three groups of software
developers, comprising a total of three assistant managers and thirty-five programmers. Our
department was responsible for the development and maintenance of all the bank’s in-house
programs mostly in COBOL that handles foreign currency business (import, export, loans, etc.) and
general-ledger accounting.
Designed and lead credit card software of the bank that deals with the POS holder customers
(acquirers) to track and project their accounts related to their credit card transactions, as well as
doing their settlements with the bank.
Lead the “YTL” conversion of the credit card software being used at the bank.
Redesigned and implemented banking transactions for foreign-currency customer accounts. Lead
a similar redesign project for native-TRL customer accounts. Reduced the variety of transactions
previously used for the same purpose to one-third.
Lead a project that targeted easy workflow and centralized control of import-export businesses
realized at the branches of the bank on behalf of their customers.
Lead installation and integration project of KONDOR+ product with our computer system to let the
Treasury Department follow the foreign currency position of the bank.
Directed the ‘foreign currency transfers’ project that enabled all the branches to transfer money
internationally to any bank by means of SWIFT messages like MT100 and MT202.
Designed and implemented a special general-purpose subprogram, DATEPROG, to deal with the
well-known Y2K problem. The subprogram is still in use and works well.
Managed the technical part of the EURO project which affected all operations among the incountries' currencies and therefore all foreign currency application programs.
Made very valuable contributions to the analysis and design of the complete foreign-currency
general ledger accounting system that was put in use in October 1993. In this three-year project, I
personally designed and implemented many critical sub-programs, which are still heavily used for
all kinds of general ledger accounting functionality.
Analyzed and implemented all necessary changes/additions (which was put in use in October,
1994) to have the branches in Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic work online and real-time in
terms of foreign-currency transactions.
Redesigned and implemented a Local-PC network in Client/Server architecture to upload,
download and perform offline processing on “foreign-bank cheques” such as Travelers Cheques,
Euro Cheques, etc. cashed by tourists or others at any branch of the bank.
Redesigned and re-coded many existing common subprograms to bring up standards and
performance improvements to the bank’s in-house (online and batch) application software.
Developed many transactions and user interfaces to be used by the branches of the bank.

Lead a team of three system programmers. My group was mainly responsible for keeping the system
running, as well as maintaining the system software, upgrading to new releases of the system
software, and providing technical support to the application users.
Developed an automated "BRIDGE" process to protect online/batch production jobs from
unauthorized access. This process supported multiple-DMRs and multiple-applications.
Developed several utilities namely RELMS, REMSP, ASGWRK, SCRFLS and ASGREEL to
overcome the “mass-storage-availability problem”.

Improved the system provided ROLBAK and ROLOUT jobs to completely eliminate the risk of
“Low Mass Storage”. (Wrote the article “Applying ROLBAK/ROLOUT to Removable Packs” that
was published in the UNISPHERE magazine, Nov.1990 issue, pp.38-46).
