I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of Quench as it enabled me to be an active member of a large collaborative team and create a final piece that we could all be proud of. Content Writer at Quench Magazine: As well as copywriting for Quench magazine, I also volunteered myself as a content creator for the online version of the magazine, Q3. I had a total of two pieces of work published to the website; one a travel writing piece and the other a music piece. Freelancing for Cardiff Times: I was able to write a review of An Inspector Calls for the magazine, and this review was published online. However, my time with Cardiff Times was unfortunately cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. Volunteering during the COVID-19 pandemic for the Cardiff Community Group: As a member of this group, I was involved in distributing flyers throughout the local area, communicating with other members of the group and sharing information on social media in order to spread an awareness of the group and the help we could provide to those struggling with the pandemic. WORK EXPERIENCE - Catering Assistant, Debenhams The skills and responsibilities of this role include: maintaining a high level of food safety and hygiene, providing excellent customer service, dealing with complaints, working efficiently within a stressful and busy environment - Kitchen Assistant/Housekeeper, Royal MASONIC BENEVOLENT INSTITUTION The skills and responsibilities of this role include: maintaining a high level of cleanliness and food hygiene, keeping up to date with training, ensuring that confidentiality, dignity and respect for the residents is maintained at all times and adapting communication to facilitate the needs of residents suffering with mental and physical disability. 2020-present English Tutor, MyTutor The skills and responsibilities of this role include: creating engaging, informative and carefully structured lesson plans that are tailored around the specific academic needs of individual students, producing the correct quantity of content to last for a 55 minute long session, teaching the GCSE English Literature and Language syllabus to a mixture of different abilities, tutoring in both a 1-1 and group environment, helping students grow their confidence, promoting creativity and critical thinking within students, being a positive role model to younger students and ensuring the safety and dignity of my students is always maintained. PERSONAL INTERESTS In my free time, I enjoy going for long walks, running reading books, and socializing with friends. I also have a blog which I use as a passion project to express my love for music and film. As well as this, I love to travel and experience different cultures and ways of life.
