PROJECT COORDINATOR – URBAN & RURAL DEVELOPMENT
(VOLUNTEER)
Community Health Foundation (CHF) | Apr 2009 - Jan 2011
The Community Health Foundation was a USAID funded project which dealt in urban and rural
development and public health awareness campaigns through numerous volunteers, members of the
communities and professors from various leading universities.
My primary responsibilities were leading the group of volunteers focused on central Punjab in running
door-to-door awareness campaigns on polio, hepatitis and mother/child health. This resulted in people
of lower income and less educated background to gather the information they needed to get proper
and immediate vaccination, medical attention and disseminate the knowledge to their neighbors and
members of the community. This information would be further shared with the foundation’s
management and donor body for increased funding and knowledge sharing venture.
Such efforts at district and union council levels has led to increased awareness and decrease in
mortality rates of people suffering from either preventable and/or curable diseases by acknowledging
symptoms early and seeking immediate treatment.
