I am a university student in my final semester at McGill University completing a joint degree in political science and anthropology. This education has provided me with immaculate writing and editing skills as well as the ability to keep a pulse on social and cultural trends. I am passionate about various modes of storytelling as a means to improve the ease and fulfillment with which we live, which has drawn me towards a career in written and visual content creation. A fast learner, I know how to adapt to new environments and develop new skills at lightning speed.
During my years in university, I have taken on several roles in social media marketing. For the summer of 2018, I worked as a Marketing Assistant for a local music festival, working closely with the Artistic Director to tailor social media posts, the festival website, and a festival program in accordance with the brand and its values. The following summer, I acted as the Director of Global Marketing and PR for HLAB, an international program that organizes a summer school program for high school students in Japan. This role cemented my comfort in communicating across cultural and linguistic barriers.
For the past year, I have been rebuilding F WORD, a non-profit organization that was once prominent on my campus. F WORD is a magazine (now turned digital) that works to amplify the voices of diverse and marginalized artists by showcasing a range of art, poetry, essays, and more. Within the organization, I have taken on several roles at once including social media manager, graphic designer, and administrative leader. Experimenting with non-hierarchical organization, I have challenged myself to lead and motivate a team in which all voices are equally recognized. This experience has been a welcome challenge and has left me with strong organizational and leadership skills.
