Gergo Nagy Hungary | - |- Profile My name is Gergo Nagy and I’m a 31 years old web developer. I make all kinds of web applications using all kinds of technologies. On the backend side my strongest suit is PHP / Symfony / Wordpress, on frontend side it’s vanilla JavaScript. Experience July 2018 – Senior Software Engineer | QwerTee | remote I’m currently working remotely for QwerTee as a software engineer. My two main focuses are developing and maintaining the qwertee.com website, and also planning, and developing an upcoming project, Urtee. On qwertee.com my day-to-day tasks are mainly bugfixes and implementing new features. On Urtee I’m responsible for creating the structure of the whole project from scratch, and developing the whole website. Mostly used technologies: CoffeeScript, NodeJS, PHP, Symfony4, jQuery, Sass Other technologies / tools: GIT, GitLab, Mattermost, Grunt, Docker, Vagrant, AWS, Nginx, MySQL, Redis, PHPUnit Jan 2018 – June 2018 Senior Javascript Developer | CarTrawler | Dublin, Ireland I was a contractor at CarTrawler as a JS developer. Our two main technologies were AngularJS and React. I’ve developed a mobile browser application on a day-to-day basis. I’ve also helped starting the transition from AngularJS to React. I was also involved in developing / upgrading our automation tests (we used Protractor). I also developed some of our release processes, like introducing Git Flow. We had releases every week, so we constantly had to maintain a reliable, relatively bug-free codebase. Mostly used technologies: AngularJS, React, Protractor, Mocha Other technologies / tools: GIT, Gulp, Grunt, Mocha, Jenkins, GitHub, Jira, Slack. Feb 2015 – Dec 2017 Lead UI Engineer | EPAM Systems | Szeged, Hungary I was a lead UI engineer for the hotels.com project at EPAM. I was taking part in the planning, and I was actively participating in the development itself. We were writing a lot of A-B tests in our own JavaScript framework, and in SiteSpect. Mostly used technologies: JavaScript, Google Closure Templates, NightwatchJS. Other technologies / tools we were using: GIT, Grunt, Karma, Jasmine, Docker, Apache2, AWS, Bamboo, Stash, Bitbucket, Jira, BlueJeans, HipChat, Slack. Sep 2009 – Jan 2015 Full-stack developer / Team leader | Department of Software Engineering, University of Szeged | Szeged, Hungary I was a full-stack web developer, and a team leader (product owner, and scrum master too). I mainly dealt with web-based projects in Symfony2 and AngularJS. I was the leader of about 52 people, 4 teams in total. I got familiar with the Agile method along the way. My biggest project: a financial software for the Hungarian universities. The backend was Symfony2, frontend Angular2, we used PostgreSQL, and Redis for storing data, also NodeJS and WebSockets for communication. I wrote my own deployment tool using Bash scripts, RabbitMQ, and Symfony2 for UI. Mostly used technologies: PHP (Symfony2, Drupal 7), JavaScript (AngularJS, NodeJS, ionic), Java (Android development). Education • University of Szeged, Hungary • Bachelor in Software Engineering | 2012 • I was learning about basic software development: mathematics, algorithms, coding patterns, OOP, etc. • 2 Languages I’ve learned: Pascal, C#, Java, C++, Assembly, PHP, NodeJS, Javascript, etc.
