My name is Gerardo González Aguilar, I have a M.Sc degree from Universidad de La Habana, Cuba and a PH.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal. I was teacher of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry for eight years, starting at 1993. My M.Sc. degree was based on the use of Quantum Chemistry semiempiricaland ab initio methods in the nitrosation reaction of flavonoids to explain the observed mutagenic behaviour or its absence.
I am a PC programmer since 1986, starting with N88‑BASIC, taking my Introduction to Informatics discipline in Pascal (my colleagues do that in MSX‑BASIC), After.finishing my degree in Chemistry, I have worked as a C programer at an institute of Agricultural Projects in Cuba. In the field of statistics and Machine Learning, I am an intermediate user of the statistical suite R, and I have used several of their packages in real‑time and analytics acquired data analysis of data by Machine Learning (Arti ficial Intelligence)/Statistics techniques as are Neural Networks, PCA, PLS. I’m a computer programmer for 34 years andI have work in automated data acquisition and IoT, although not extensively. More details about my career can be found at my ORCID and github pages. I have work in automated data acquisition and IoT, although not extensively (see P1.178 e‑Eyes and Internet‑Of‑Things for detection of pyrrolizidine alkaloids. Colorimetric and mathematical implementation for automatic recognition of a signal: https://www.elsevier.com/__data/assets/pdf_file/0008/234593/BIOS2016{_poster_programme.pdf).
At this time I am taking IBM certified lectures on z/OS and REXX programming and learning COBOL by myself, some simple snippets as kalmann filter can be found on my github page (although I have made more complicated programs). For this purpose I have installed ooREXX and hercules z/OS emulator on my Windows laptop, and i am planning to install them on my Debian WSL installation on the same laptop.
