I am a native English speaker with more than 20-plus years in professional research in both academic and public libraries, business consulting, public policy advocacy, business ownership and planning, resume assistance and newspaper column and article writing. I graduated cum laude from Elon University in 2000 with a B.A. in both public administration and political science. I have served as a librarian in both academic and public settings where I was often tasked with leading career centers, resume building classes and grant writing proposals. In addition, I have owned several of my own businesses including a large book store and have vast experience in socio-economic issues.
I have experience in formulating and writing business plans both for myself and for others. I serve on a Parks & Recreation Committee in a small mountain town and have served as a public liaison for the business community in a small Southern city. As a commentator and advocate for small business interests I wrote a weekly column for the Washington Daily News in Washington, North Carolina. My columns focused on local business, political and social issues and were considered edgy.
In addition to writing I have over 20 years in business creation and consulting to help others restructure or start small businesses. I have a passion for entrepreneurship and marketing particularly on Facebook. I operate my own retail businesses currently on Amazn, eBay, Etsy, Facebook and Mercari.
