Gargar Johnson

I am a passionate and driven Youth Development Worker and IT professional from Liberia with over 3 years of hands-on experience in web development, graphic design, CMS, and media communication. Currently, I am a third-year student at Starz University in Monrovia, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with a concentration in Systems Administration.

My career journey has allowed me to wear multiple hats across various sectors—technology, education, communication, and youth empowerment. I serve as the Media Marketing and Communication Associate at YONER Liberia, a leading youth-focused, tech-driven NGO that is reimagining education and employability in Liberia. In this role, I contribute to strategic communication planning, create compelling website and social media content, and support brand visibility across digital platforms.

One of my proudest achievements at YONER Liberia was leading the “Rural Agriculture and Agribusiness Visibility” Project funded by the European Union. I organized entrepreneurship education events, facilitated networking opportunities for young agripreneurs, and helped develop sustainable agribusiness models that improved access to markets and practical knowledge in rural communities.

I also bring international experience to the table through my role as IT Project Coordinator with J-MO Global, a U.S.-based tech firm. There, I worked directly with both local and global clients, managing projects and solving complex IT challenges. My previous experience at Liberia Telecommunications Corporation (LTC Mobile) strengthened my versatility—I began in Sales and Marketing but was quickly promoted to Network Engineer Support and Graphic Designer due to my performance and technical abilities.

Beyond my technical acumen, I am a community leader dedicated to empowering youth and fostering human capital development across Liberia. I’ve held various leadership roles in youth initiatives and continue to support efforts that promote education, innovation, and economic opportunity for underserved populations.
