I am an English writer, copy editor and proofreader, talented at explaining technical topics to non-technical people.

I create engaging, interesting press releases, articles, blog posts and other written materials. I am skilled at copy editing and proofreading quickly and accurately.

I recently became a freelancer in order to enjoy more flexibility and have better control over what I work on.

Before that I was an account manager for a science communication company where I worked with engineers, scientists, policy writers and other experts in fields ranging from energy and innovation to human security, governance and positive parenting. I was responsible for client relations and project management. I have travelled to various African countries to interview and write about engineers and their innovations and manage the photography of them.

Before moving into communications, I was a journalist at various top South African newspapers, new sites, and a news wire. As a result, I have well-honed interview and research skills and am able to write compelling, factually-correct stories on tight deadlines.
