Take up configuration and testing in both staging and production environments.
Regularly monitor network performance to verify that capacity meets project and product requirements.
Collaborate with your software colleagues when integrating applications with network solutions.
This function requires knowledge of:
- Linux networking: routing, network services, firewalls, bridging, discovery mechanisms, etc.
- Knowledge of wireless networking technologies (Wi-Fi, LTE) and mechanisms (automatic handovers,
signal quality monitoring, QoS, aggregation,…)
- Network monitor standards and tools (SNMP, Wireshark, Splunk,…).
- Switching protocols (VLAN, VTP, VRRP, etc…) TCP/IP protocol stack (DNS, DHCP, NTP, STUN/
TURN,…).
- Setting up and managing tunneling mechanisms (VPN, IPsec, SSL, GRE, OpenVPN, Wireguard,…)
- Security mechanisms (RADIUS, SSH, WPAv2, ACL, NAT/PAT, …) and cloud networking solutions
(AWS/Azure).
