Frances An is an Australian freelance writer, PhD graduate and editor. Her work has appeared in Cha, The Cincinnati Review, Los Angeles Review Of Books, The Spectator Australia, CapX, Heterodox Academy blog and The Vietnamese Magazine. She has been nominated for awards such as Best Short Fictions, Fair Australia Prize and Red Hen Press Women’s Prose Prize as well as opportunities such as the Hot Desk Fellowship (Perth, 2024), Young Voices Contributors Program (Washington D.C., 2023) and a Create NSW Early Career Writers Grant (2018).
Beyond her own writing track record, Frances provides an editing service where she gives fellow writers in-depth feedback and analysis to help improve their work. She has spent the last few years helping people sharpen their writing, ranging from coaching students in report-writing to budding creative writers hoping to piece a family memoir together.
