I graduated as an Agronomist at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) in December 1990, specifically with a focus on Rural Development. During the first 5 years of professional performance I worked on government projects focused on Soil Studies and Conservation, and on Information Systems associated with Land Evaluation (A.L.E.S. program). During those years I took some courses at the Centro Interamericano para el Desarrollo Integral de Aguas y Tierras (CIDIAT, academic institute of the University of Los Andes) and in postgraduate courses at the UCV, related to Soil Studies (Agrology), and Impact Assessment. Environmental. Later I worked intermittently for the Venezuelan oil industry in Environmental Supervision work. In recent years I settled in the Venezuelan Guayana, working through local NGOs in community development projects in peasant and indigenous communities, improvement of conucos, sustainable management of local natural resources, bioconstruction, and use of Geographic Information Systems (gv-SIG program) in these projects.
