I have been working for the past 2.5 years at Aga Khan University which is the biggest healthcare university in Pakistan with over 17,000 employees and a 700-bed hospital in Karachi, Pakistan among others in Afghanistan and East African countries. Currently, I am at the global risk management department where I closely follow the operational, strategic and technology related concerns related to the hospitals and university. I am also leading the project of university-wide deployment of new risk management software at AKU.
Before my current role, I was a graduate trainee where I got rotated in the core functions of the hospital, including IT, Finance, HR and Patient Care. I developed an expertise in data analytics, and it became a common theme in all my rotations. I made various dashboards for tracking, presentation, and analysis purposes for multiple audiences. During my IT rotation, I also worked extensively on the back-end side of data analytics like extracting customized tables from the data warehouse through SQL queries, applying machine learning algorithms to predict future revenues, and running statistical analysis on Python using Pandas, NumPy and Matplotlib libraries.
With regards to my education, I completed BS Accounting and Finance from IBA in 2020 and have cleared 11 out of 13 ACCA exams but have not pursued the rest due to my shifted focus on Data Analytics. However, my finance knowledge has always given me an edge and helped me in understanding the business and financial matters of the organization. Currently, I am also pursuing evening MBA studies from IBA Karachi where I have taken courses such as Business Statistics and Business Intelligence. Here are some of the skills that I bring to the table for you with respect to data analysis:
