CAREER HISTORY

Consultant Designer (2019 – Date)
I work as consultant Graphics Designer at AFRILABS, Abuja. I provide technical support in terms
of designs to the communications team. My duties include but is not limited to graphics and design
support. I have worked in collaboration with writers to produce designs for all their communication
materials including flyers, posters, brochures and quarterly reports.
2. Civic Innovation Innovation Hub
Graphics Designer (2018 – 2019)
I work as an integral part of the creative team at the Civic Innovation Lab, Abuja. My role in the
communication department has been to innovatively create digital content for several projects
which I have been a part of. I oversee the design of several digital collaterals which include
brochures, company profiles, infographics, banners, logos amongst others. I work with the clients’
brief and ensure that the collaterals meet up to client specifications. I am also responsible for
providing graphic support for the production of reports, journals and brand story telling ventures.
As a core member of the communications unit, I have also produced countless graphic designs and
content to sell the hub’s brand. Some project my team and I have successfully supported include;
The Civic X project:
The Civic X project; popularly called The Mobile Learning Lab, is an initiative of Civic
Innovation Lab. It is a social enterprise that has been recognized by Google Nigeria in 2019
for its innovative approach and contributions to rural education and women empowerment. I
have been in charge of producing graphical content including but not limited to reports, briefs,
and training materials for beneficiaries of the project.
Financial Literacy for Women in Rural community:
This program was designed to empower women in underserved and rural communities in
Abuja. As at today, the Financial Literacy program has engaged over 1800 women and I have
been part of the team that has provided all round communications and design support to the
project. We successfully caught the attention of Oracle Nigeria who have partnered with the
team in scaling this project. It was part of my responsibility, working in collaboration with a
content developer to produce communication materials and periodic briefs to Oracle Nigeria.
The Student Innovation Challenge:
The Student Innovation Challenge was designed to identify & support student entrepreneurs
across tertiary institutions in collaboration with Office of the Vice President.
I worked with the project manager to develop and deploy several graphic designs for pre &
Post applications. I was in charge of providing banners and infographics for the project as
well as reports, brochures and designs for souvenirs. The project engaged over 3000 students
nationwide as well provided a platform for over 50+ businesses to pitch their ideas in front of
the Vice President, in return for funding, business incubation and support.
3. Hilex Designs
Lead Designer 2016 - Date
In 2016, Bourne out of the desire to train and retrain others, I launched the Hilex Designs. A
contemporary graphic and design outfit that provides technical support and training for corporate
and private clients alike. My Job description includes conceptualization and creations of designs
to fit clients’ needs and demands. Under this outfit I have provided services to over 100 distinct
clients and provided support for projects across fields including commercial and social impact
programs.
