Fabiani Higino

I am internationalist (bachelor’s degree in International Relations with two years of technical course in International Negotiation) where I had the chance to study International Laws, Politics, Social Science, International Affairs and Incoterms. I am Brazilian and currently working with UNICEF Brazil Country Office as a UN Specialist Volunteer in the Procurement area. My career in the humanitarian sector began with IOM UN Agency at duty station of Boa Vista/RR to respond the Venezuelan Emergency Response as the focal point in Supply and Procurement for the Northern Brazilian Region, for almost three years. Also, I served as National Focal Point for Procurement at the Country Office in Brasília/DF, for one year. I have more than ten years of relevant experience in supply and procurement at Brazilian retails sector and almost six years as a humanitarian professional in the same area. I had the opportunities of work in important Brazilian retail companies in the areas of food and textile and important Spanish food industry of commodities as olive oil. These experiences gave me a strong supply, production, logistic and negotiation background. There I was responsible for prepare quotations request, apply retro planning to result in a timely and quality delivery of the goods, provide guidance for the suppliers on companies’ policies and procedures, monitor the production, inspection, pick up at origin, shipment, customs clearance, delivery at warehouse, follow up reports, payments balance control, prices, and quality negotiations. For the last one and half years, I am working as a UNV Procurement Assistant, during which I have been developing my knowledge of service contracts and bidding process.

I consider myself a proactive leader with professional competencies such as assertive communication, I encourage and contribute to clear and open communication. I can explain complex matters in an informative, inspiring, and motivational way. I take ownership for achieving the Organization priorities and I assume responsibility for my actions and delegated work. I develop and promote effective collaboration within and across units to achieve shared goals and optimize results and better use of the resources available. I continuously seek to learn, share knowledge, and innovate. From my experience I have developed the analytical thinking, ability to multitask and solving problems on supply and production chain as well logistic situations faced in remote geographical locations as Brazilian North region and riverside communities. I demonstrate ability to work in a composed, competent, and committed manner and I exercise careful judgment in meeting day-to-day challenges, especially on the Covid 19 pandemic scenario. I have developed the capacity of deliver quality results in a service-oriented and timely manner as, for example the Rio Grande do Sul flood emergency supply purchasing. I can provide a clear sense of direction, leading by example and demonstrating the ability to carry out the organizations vision and goals; I assist others to realize and develop their potential.
